Watermelon Lemonade

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups ripe watermelon chunks seeds removed
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice about 3–4 lemons
  • 2 –3 cups cold water or sparkling water
  • 2 –3 tbsp honey sugar, or stevia (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes or watermelon ice cubes for serving
  • Fresh mint or lemon slices for garnish

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine mesh sieve (optional)
  • Pitcher
  • Ice cube trays (if making watermelon ice cubes)

Method
 

  1. Cut watermelon into chunks and remove seeds.
  2. Blend the watermelon until smooth. Strain through a sieve if you prefer a smoother juice.
  3. Juice lemons and add to the watermelon juice in a pitcher.
  4. Stir in cold water or sparkling water to dilute to taste.
  5. Add sweetener if desired, then chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve over ice or watermelon ice cubes. Garnish with mint and lemon slices.
