Ingredients
  

  • 4 fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 4 fresh basil leaves plus more for garnish
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup optional, or use agave
  • 6 oz sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice as needed
  • Garnish: sliced strawberries basil sprig, citrus peel

Method
 

  1. Add strawberries and basil to a cocktail shaker or sturdy glass. Muddle gently to release juices and oils.
  2. Add lime juice and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 10–15 seconds.
  3. Strain the mixture into glasses filled with fresh ice.
  4. Top each glass with sparkling water. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Garnish with basil sprigs, sliced strawberries, or lemon peel. Serve immediately.
