8medium lemonsripe
1cupgranulated sugaror honey for natural sweetener
5cupscold waterdivided
2cupsice cubesoptional

Instructions
Roll and juice the lemons until you have 1 cup (240 ml) of lemon juice.
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves, then cool. (This is your simple syrup.)
In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice, simple syrup, and 4 cups cold water. Stir well.
Add ice cubes, garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs, and serve chilled.
