dried hibiscus petals
or 5 fresh calyces
sweetener
optional, honey or agave
spices or herbs
optional, e.g. cinnamon, ginger, mint
Instructions
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
Add hibiscus petals and any optional herbs or spices. Remove from heat.
Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
Strain into teacups. Sweeten if desired. Serve hot or chilled.
Notes
Use dried petals from Hibiscus sabdariffa (roselle). Store in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add citrus or herbs for enhanced flavor.
