Ingredients

  • 2 cups water filtered
  • 2 tbsp dried hibiscus petals or 5 fresh calyces
  • sweetener optional, honey or agave
  • spices or herbs optional, e.g. cinnamon, ginger, mint

Instructions

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  • Add hibiscus petals and any optional herbs or spices. Remove from heat.
  • Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
  • Strain into teacups. Sweeten if desired. Serve hot or chilled.

Notes

Use dried petals from Hibiscus sabdariffa (roselle). Store in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add citrus or herbs for enhanced flavor.
