Equipment

  • small bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spoon (for stirring)
  • Saucepan or kettle
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 4 tablespoons cold water for blooming
  • 4 tablespoons hot water for dissolving
  • Optional: ½ cup juice tea, or flavored liquid for variation
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon natural sweetener honey, maple syrup, or stevia

Instructions

  • Bloom the gelatin: Sprinkle gelatin powder evenly over cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for 1–2 minutes until thick and spongy.
  • Dissolve: Add hot water (not boiling) to the bloomed gelatin. Stir until fully dissolved and translucent.
  • Use immediately: Mix into drinks, smoothies, or recipes as desired. For gels, combine with juice or tea and refrigerate until set.
  • Optional: For granulated sugar variation, mix with sugar, dry the sheet, then crush into crystals.

Notes

Use one teaspoon gelatin per cup of liquid for soft gels; two teaspoons for firm results.
For ice cream, blend into cream or milk before chilling.
To make translucent gels, strain the hot liquid before refrigerating.
Add collagen-boosting flavors like green tea, lemon, or berry juice for extra nutrition.
