Equipment

  • Espresso machine or French press
  • Fine-mesh strainer

Ingredients

  • 2 shots fresh espresso strongly brewed
  • 1 oz simple syrup or agave/maple syrup
  • 2 oz non-alcoholic spirit coffee liqueur or vodka alternative
  • Ice for shaking
  • 3 coffee beans for garnish

Instructions

  • Brew two fresh shots of espresso and let them cool slightly.
  • Add espresso, syrup, and non-alcoholic spirit to a shaker with ice.
  • Shake vigorously for 20–30 seconds to create froth.
  • Strain into chilled martini glasses using a fine mesh strainer.
  • Garnish with three coffee beans or a dusting of cocoa.

Notes

Use cold brew concentrate if you don’t have an espresso machine.
Swap simple syrup for honey, caramel, or vanilla syrups.
Add a splash of coconut cream for a tropical twist.
Always shake with ice to achieve the signature frothy top.
