Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 6–8 lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar or honey as an alternative
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes optional
  • Lemon slices or mint sprigs for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Juice lemons until you have 1 cup of lemon juice.
  2. In a pitcher, combine sugar and 1 cup of warm water. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely (simple syrup).
  3. Add the lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices or mint if desired.
