Cherry Lemonade

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh cherries pitted and halved (or ½ cup cherry syrup)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice about 4–5 lemons
  • ½ cup sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Lemon slices and extra cherries for garnish
  • Optional: 2 cups sparkling water for a fizzy version

Equipment

  • Wooden spoon or muddler
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional)
  • Citrus juicer

Method
 

  1. In a pitcher, muddle cherries until juices release. If using syrup, add directly.
  2. Pour in lemon juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add cold water and mix well.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Strain for a smoother texture, or leave fruit pieces in for rustic style.
  6. Add ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices and cherries.
  7. For sparkling cherry lemonade, top with chilled sparkling water just before serving.
