Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups filtered water (or chilled coconut water)
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon freshly grated turmeric root (or ¼ tsp turmeric powder)
  • ½ teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon water kefir or plain kombucha
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt, shiso leaf, or a dash of apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Start with a tall glass or mason jar. Add the turmeric and ginger.
  2. Pour in the lemon juice and stir well to activate the compounds.
  3. Add filtered water (or coconut water) and continue stirring.
  4. Top with a tablespoon of water kefir or kombucha for fizz and probiotics.
  5. Taste and adjust—add sea salt or apple cider vinegar if desired.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with shiso or cucumber if desired.
